Our client is the owner of a global tech firm based in Los Angeles, but frequent travel to New York City led him to purchase this Park Avenue pied-à-terre as a home base. When he’s not in town, the apartment becomes a gracious retreat for friends and family an urban haven designed for both privacy and hospitality.
Create a bespoke, luxury hotel–inspired interior that reflects his personal style - neither overly traditional nor overtly modern, and never fussy.
The Manhattan apartment was in immaculate condition, providing an ideal foundation for a layered, textural interior that balances clean lines with subtle richness. Dark woods, rustic patterns, and tactile fixtures nod to his love of the outdoors while maintaining a refined, city-appropriate sensibility.
The most transformative element was a narrow outdoor terrace running the length of the apartment. After a two-year approval process with the city’s Landmarks Commission, we installed a retractable glass wall system that dissolves the boundary between indoors and out - bringing the cityscape into daily life. A custom double-sided fireplace extends the season, allowing the terrace to be enjoyed nearly year-round and completing the apartment’s tailored, quietly luxurious feel.
